Immersive Media spherical video operates with GPS and accurately records the location of every video frame. This information is used to plot the route taken in the recording, as well as the heading and even the tilt. Other information can also be recorded that need to be referenced to the video. Immersive Media offers professional mapping tools and integrations with market leading tools like ArcGIS. We also offer simple and free web site integration tools, like the display above, to provide location and context to videos.

When paired with very accurate georeferencing systems like the Applanix POS/LV, which includes a GPS plus a distance measuring system and inertial navigation system to accurately resolve your location even inside buildings and tunnels and in urban canyons, the immersive data becomes more powerful. Immersive data can be combined with other georeferenced data to create multi-layer interactive maps. Immersive Media provides tools so our video players can display objects, pulled from other georeferenced databases, at their proper geo locations inside the spherical video, or we can just display custom information (like a billboard ad) anywhere in the video. Our players allow the user to interact with the video and the augmented objects so developers can build interesting applications around our players, for example where users click on a building, which would load a virtual tour of the insides and display in a separate window information about that building.
